The Ultimate Self-Care Investment🙏

We’re starting our 9th class of wannabe yoga teachers and students right here in Georgetown, Kentucky. I say students, because more and more of you are signing up to deepen your learning about yoga for your own self-care and integrate into your daily life with work, family and just being human.

Additionally, more of you want to start training on YOUR schedule, not mine, lol. Naturally, I have a method to the madness, but I’ve been testing adding students midstream and so far it’s working out. I needed to get out of my own way. As long as you attend 12 trainings (either in person or virtually), then you can walk away with a certificate.

I’m also planning to open some of the lectures up to the community, as I’m being asked to offer more workshops. So for now, I’m using the yoga teacher training content to do just that. I’m excited about the direction our little Registered Yoga School is going!

One of the many definitions of yoga is that it’s a journey of the Self, through the Self, to the Self…….whoever that is.😜 Think of this journey an opportunity to pause and embark on an excavation of sorts. An excavation of YOU! Peeling back the layers to get to your authentic self. Learning a deeper level of holistic self-care that involves moving your body with yoga, breathing techniques, mindfulness and meditation to name a few – all to alleviate stress, worry and anxiety.

Science is catching up and validating what the ancients knew all along about the benefits of holistic living and what I like to call “The 3 M’s” – Movement, Mindfulness & Meditation.

You’ll enjoy 12 weekends taking a deeper dive into the world of Yoga, my favorite four letter word. So, yes, if you’re not sure you wanna teach, but wanna learn more, then consider this the ultimate self-care investment. And who knows, you may tap into your inner teacher and decide to teach.

Who signs up for this course?

Sooooo many graduates have found this training integrates beautifully with what they do now. I’ve had teachers, nurses, psychologists, chief financial officers, CrossFit coaches, personal trainers, real estate agents, equestrians, veterinarians, moms, grandmothers, pastors, acupuncturists, social workers, mental health therapists and even retired folks who simply want to learn more and make an investment in their very being.

You’re never too old. It’s never too late. I consider myself a full-time student. There’s so much to learn and each year I offer this training, my learning deepens and for that….. I. AM. THANKFUL.

Who is the lead facilitator?

Me! Shannon Stricklin, the creator and visionary of The Studio. I quit my 25 year career in the telecommunications industry to open a yoga studio and become a yoga teacher. I’ve been teaching 11 years and have taught nearly 6,000 classes, practiced yoga for more than 17 years and graduating my 8th class yoga teacher training students this month!

I consider my classes a fusion of all the yoga that I love including hatha, restorative, yin, yoga nidra and whatever I create. It’s increasingly important that my classes are inclusive for all humans – including seniors and curvier folks. Now that I’m well into my 50’s, I’m particularly interested in “aging like a pro” with Yoga and all its accoutrements. Plus, I just LOVE teaching  and enjoy baking in my love of the seasons, nature, history, & music history into my classes.

How will we learn?

I’ll engage you with interactive presentation slides, videos, demonstrations, observation, experience, discussion, reading assignments, guest speakers and teachers, journaling & quizzes.
